As a fellow Gout sufferer from time time, try switching to moose cider. It’s as cheap as beer but seems to stop the gout!

Moose Cider seems to be made here. Strange name for a Thai product. Do they know what a Moose is? :duck: < (Moose throwing apple)

Maybe they meant the plural of mouse.

All alcohol....even wine...red or white...is bad for gout.
So instead of complaining about wine quality/prices in Thailand, maybe the OP should consider give up drinking..
Either that or suffer the consequences...

And maybe you should talk to my Rheumatologist Doctor in BKK HH Hospital who has not only told me that wine, after tests have been conducted for many years is now considered to a neutral risk factor in gout diet management but has given me the fact sheets.

Beer is the worst, spirits less so but still to be avoided if possible.

Why on earth would a Specialist Doctor possibly say wine is ok when it isn't? Perhaps she's mistaken, or perhaps you are also a Rheumatologist Doctor with access to latest tests and know better than she does, I really wouldn't know?!

Anyway I'm not so much complaining about wine prices(but I am at some of the quality I've tasted! ) but more looking as to where to drink it as the most reasonable prices?

Anyway.. Thanks

There's an easy way to test the wine theory. Give it up for 30 days, see if the pain lessens then drink again and see if there's renewed pain. No difference, drink wine, difference, stop.

I had major issues with gout in Thailand till I made just 1-2 subtle changes

only drink tiger light beer, less sugar

stopped drinking coca cola, pepsi is better for my gout, dont ask why

as for wine, just accept that you need to buy a bottle to get a decent few glasses at a fair price.

Interesting re Tiger light as

a. I've been wondering whether it's my beer brand(Leo) that's been partly the cause of gout

And b. Always wondered what light meant after I found out the alcohol content was same! Image

If I try a beer soon I'll try Tiger/SanMig Light

And on the odd day I cheat I've switched to Sang Som diet coke (from the full fatty sugary stuff)

Re my earlier comments about wine being ok for gout.... Checked with Rheuma Doc... To clarify... 1, poss 2, glasses is ok, but the same won't be said for beer/spirits. She also mentioned the sugar.

The old addage of 'in moderation' applies!

I've given up on my 'wine at decent price in a bar' question as noone said go this bar and drink this wine at this price, which kind of indicates to me I flogging a dead horse!
As this forum always has plenty of answers/suggestions

To me, they all sell cheap rubbish at 200+ a glass! Cheers bar(adj Hilton) happy hour at 160b before 8pm is by far the best deal I found, perfectly good Aussie Shiraz. I just wondered if that could be bettered, doesn't sound like it...

Hey ho I bought a bottle at 580 and stay in the odd night!

Missing beer badly...

Has prices gone up for liquor as well - can one have a whisky/sody, burbon/Ginger ale, Gin/Tonic at home or in restaurants for prices like before?

Some skulduggery went on with tax on boxes of wine but it doesn't affect real drinkers!

Does that mean that wine bottles' prices remained the same?

I can't remember the exact details but I think the reason that boxes of wine were comparatively cheaper was that the tax rate before didn't take into account the volume.
