However this month's bill is EXACTLY the same as last month i.e. 3,617.38 the same right down to satang. So I checked previous bills and 5 out of the last nine are 3,617.38

I find that very strange.
In the past I have had some exact same bills as previous month but certainly not to the same extent you have. Usually a month or two at most

Households told no rise in power prices
Electricity bills will not rise despite a hike in oil prices as the government has capped the fuel tariff (Ft) rate, said Energy Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow.

Mr Supattanapong, also a deputy prime minister, insisted on Tuesday that power bills would be impervious to rising oil prices with the government now freezing the Ft rate until the end of year to help households.

Yeah right, thats why so many people are reporting rises in their electricity bills.

Power bills poised to rise 4.6% in early 2022
Power bills are set to increase by 4.6% from January to April next year to an average of 3.78 baht per kilowatt hour (unit) as Thailand needs to import costly liquefied natural gas (LNG) for electricity generation, says the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

The state measure to put a cap on electricity bills to relieve people's living costs, which has been implemented over the past two years, will come to an end as LNG prices in the global market increase.

The electricity rate remained at 3.64 baht per unit since 2019 before declining to 3.61 baht per unit last year and still being in use through 2021.

Fuel tariff (Ft), which is used to calculate electricity bills, has been in the negative territory since 2017, ranging between -0.11 and -0.37 baht a unit.

From January to April next year, the Ft rate will be 0.139 baht a unit, according to the ERC.

The period is the first adjustment of the Ft in 2022.

No idea where they get those figures from, our last bill was 4.25 per unit. But at least we're getting warned now before the price hike.

My bill last month was once again 3,617.38 which now accounts for 6 out of the last 10 months.

More than confusing!

4.6% my arse - our leccy bill up 40% this month. Haven't touched a/c and the unit count is the same as always for this time of year. Neighbour's bill had doubled.

Well, the bill has just arrived. Initially I thought that's not too bad, but then realised it was only January - traditionally one of the cheapest months. I agree, a fair old hike of prices.

We're normally around the 2,000฿ mark at this time of year. Today's bill was > 2,800฿.

Pretty much identical situ to us then, Nov-Jan are winter months with no a/c and reduced usage (under 600 units). Our bills have been around 1,700-2,000 for this time of year for years. Latest bill - 2,700 with no increase in usage.

Little surprise there - energy prices are increasing everywhere and probably more in Western Europe than here.
