Hundreds of firefighters were mobilized last night as a massive bush fire spread over 10 square kilometers and threatened several housing estates in Hua Hin.
Under threat from the fire in a hilly area of S'mor Prong were the Thippawan 5, Tropical Hill and Highland Sea View estates.
Daily News said that the fire - likely caused by hot weather conditions - had started on Monday evening near the area surrounding Wat S'mor Prong.
Daily News said that the fire was now largely under control with no threat to the houses.

It is news, it threatened them at the time, headlines don't change once they're published.

We came home from shopping, on Tues. around 4:30 PM, and saw the hill behind Tropical Hill 2 (We live in Trop. Hill 1) on fire. I didn't know if it was a controlled burn or a fire but it didn't seem to be spreading and was burning in a semi-circle on the hill. It didn't last long as there was never any danger to Tropical Hill 1.
