It’s certainly gaining in popularity even if the technical skills and fitness levels are still quite a bit lower than the men’s games - but there’s only one way that women’s football is heading and that’s on the up!!

Well unfortunately the Lionesses suffered the same fate as the Lions and crashed out at the semi-final stage. In doing so, they have gained a lot of supporters in the process and helped put women’s football firmly on the map.

Yes, I was up at silly o'clock to watch it. The English passing was worse than Ratchaburi on a bad day. They made it so hard for themselves repeatedly handing the play to USA. Having said that, on another day, with a fair wind, England could have played as badly and beaten the USA if they actually converted chances.

Overall, a great effort by the Lionesses, but the best team won.

There were a fair number of misplaced passes but also some excellent ones too (especially some of the long-range passing by England). I just watched the Brazil vs Argentina game in the Copa America and there were plenty of misplaced passes in that game too.

I think sometimes people apply a double standard to women's football. They point out every mistake, poor piece of control, passing or shooting, conveniently forgetting that for any egregious mistake by a female player, you can easily find one similar or worse from a male player. (Not having a go at you, BB, it's just something I've noticed in general on various different discussion forums).

The England vs U.S.A game was by FAR more entertaining than the Champion's League Final. I thoroughly enjoyed it and have enjoyed all the quarters and semis (and a couple of group games). Just a real shame Houghton couldn't stick that late penalty away. The better team did win on the night, unfortunately.

Good final, US deserved to win.I'm glad they got a 2nd goal (Great one) hate to win on a penalty. I'm sure all over the US little girls must be so excited.

Was gutted the US won. I dislike them purely due to Megan Rapinoe. Refusing to sing your own National Anthem is disgusting. Terrible role model. She should have her US passport taken off her, along with her citizenship, and told to find another country as she obviously has a problem with the one that has given her such a pleasant upbringing. An upbringing other countries' citizens could only dream of.

Self-entitled cow.

It seems she's rattled quite a few proud Americans. Horrible woman. Bet she's one of those that despises all men, too.

Oh dear. Whoever put that poster together obviously has no idea about the USWNT. Ali Krieger and Alex Morgan, who are shown there, have also said they will not be going to the White House. Krieger had this to say about/to Donald Trump:
In regards to the 'President's' tweet today, I know women who you cannot control or grope anger you, but I stand by Megan Rapinoe & will sit this one out as well. I don't support this administration nor their fight against LGBTQ+ citizens, immigrants & our most vulnerable.
In fact, as far as the reports I've seen go, not a single member of the team has yet said they want to go to the White House and their coach Jill Ellis said she's not expecting an invitation.

I am not a great sports fan, and even a lessor fan of woman's football. The following is from Australia, and as far as I am concerned should be classed as pornographic:

A photo of Australian footy star Tayla Harris made headlines last week when a post featuring the image was uploaded the Channel 7 AFL broadcaster's Facebook page and began garnering a slew of derogatory and sexual comments.
