Corner 112 Restaurant

Post by huahin4ever »

Anyone tried this restaurant? The poster says 1/2kg ribs for only 150 baht which sounds unbelievably cheap if the ribs have good amount of meat on them. The sign also says all you can eat BBQ buffet for 190 baht which sound almost incredible. See Google Maps link for location.

That link didn't take me anywhere.

But I live off of 112 so know this place well to drive by and to peer in if stopping at 7/11. Wasn't it a buffet place at one stage? Last time I looked, I wasn't even sure it was still open!

I get all my take-aways from there as I'm only a few minutes away. The food is good, especially their pizzas and very reasonably priced. You can also order from Manee's bar and they will deliver. No need to leave your bar stool.
They do a Korean BBQ (cook yourself under hot lamps).

The place is very under marketed and should be doing much better than it is. Never more than 4 or 5 tables taken which in a restaurant that size, it looks empty.

I'd thoroughly recommend it. I've never actually eaten there, but had many take-aways.

To follow on. I've just been for a take-away there. 1 x Laab, 2 x green curries (good portions) plus two small changs (while waiting) - total 280 baht.

Had a good look around while I was waiting. Although only 3 tables taken, the restaurant can seat around 100 customers with plenty of space between tables. They have a 'help yourself' salad bar when you order.

The plus side:
Food is very good.
Service is excellent.
Prices are very reasonable.
Wheelchair access.
Decor has lots of greenery which makes for comfortable surroundings.

The downside:
I can only think of one. i.e. parking. The restaurant doesn't have a car park so your only choice is street parking. If you can't park on Soi 1 then you're only choice is on 112. The kerb adjacent to the restaurant is marked red/white so you may have a few yards to walk!

All in all, I'd recommend a visit.

I have eaten there a few times and never been unhappy, good choices in both the cook yourself buffet and also the other food that they prepare for you.
I agree with Terry it is under promoted.

In case anyone was planning a visit, Corner 112 is currently closed for 'refurbishment' and will re-open on the 19th.
I can't imagine what they're going to do with the place as everything in there is still 'as new'. I guess they're changing the whole theme.

It appears now they meant the 19th October. Not sure if it's changed hands but the 'refurbishment' entailed a complete rebuild of the restaurant and now fully enclosed with a small outside terrace. I doubt the menu will be the same as previously.
Was that the place that had BBQs and advertised Thai/French beef steaks ?

That's the place. Their main product was a 'Korean BBQ' cooked under hot lights at your table.
Their pizzas were excellent and I've had many take-aways from there. Prices were on a par with Mr. Mon's but the food was better. Not knocking Mr. Mon's who also does good Thai food, but 'Corner 112' was better.

It was grossly under marketed/promoted for a restaurant that can seat 100+ patrons.
I'll wait to see what unfolds when it re-opens.

I went when it first opened,it operated a buy tokens system which meant you buy the tokens at one desk,go to order and collect food then go to the bar to get your drink in other words no table service. Too much hassle really.
