Chiang Mai - Honouring the Water Goddess

Footage shows a Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, that has been decorated with hundreds of colourful umbrellas.

The brollies, made from bright mulberry paper, are hanging outside the Tha Luk temple to mark the upcoming Yi Peng, or Loi Krathong, festival on November 11 in which devotees honour the Goddess of Water.

Head monk Phra Palad said umbrellas were a symbolic way to honour Mae Khongkha, the deity worshipped for water.

The abbot added: ''I hope that the colourful umbrellas will encourage many young people to visit the temple to take selfies under the display. It will be gone on November 12 the day after Yi Peng.''
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
