With so much talk about this structure and so many seasoned members on this forum I find it very strange that no one has any contact or knowledge of what they are building

One person told us from a very reliable source that it will be a museum and a cafe. It doesn't look like that to me yet, but what do I know? It is probably my perception of what a museum should look like.

Wow!!! What did PeteC say about putting more and more onto this platform? They're now going up another level (excuse the thumb), but I still can't see what it is yet.

It is probably just the start of the roof framing.

LOL, yes you are probably right. They are building a bungalow on the plot behind my house - when they started the roof framing on that, I thought they were going up another floor.

Oh come on Ye of Little Faith.... Thai, Philippine and Cambodian workers have always worked at speeds we Farang are quite frankly always stunned by! :D  And of course a Rooftop Bar requires some "Roof Framing"

Still can't see what it is yet, but as you can see, they are making a lot of very high small rooms. A home for giraffes maybe? Seriously, it is not looking like either a museum nor a restaurant yet,

Storage for all the paperwork immigration is collecting in the area?
Probably not, it would collapse in no time 😉😉

Any more news or advance on the building ?
I read recently that it's going to be a museum for the late King ?

I was very busy with visitors for a couple of weeks, followed by an accident (non vehicle), so I've only been down there once this month. I hope to be well enough to get back about Wednesday.

Having said the above, the last time I saw the building (17 Feb), nothing had really changed - a lot of very small, high rooms. If it is a museum, it is certainly what I'd imagine a museum to look like. I'd have imagined a museum dedicated to a monarch who had been as loved as he was to be very grand exhibition rooms. Maybe my mind needs to get into a Thai mindset.

Drove past it earlier today on the way back from a late lunch at Pak Nam Pram, just out of curiosity. A very grand entrance is being prepared for what is otherwise, as it stands, a very nondescript, old fashioned rabbit warren of a building. Maybe the entrance is a clue?

Perhaps a local government building?
