Well, take care and good luck in getting over it soon.

No, I was wondering about that myself although from what I've read it may not be particularly effective anyway.

According to an article published in Nature Magazine:
Overall, Favipiravir possibly exerted no significant beneficial effect in the term of mortality in the general group of patients with mild to moderate COVID-19.

None of my wife's relatives (3) were given it either, though I read in reports that it was supposedly given to people self treating at home. They missed a chance to recoup some money by selling some to a farang.

My daughter and her partner contracted covid after a short holiday in Vegas. They're both vaccinated and boosted. She tells me how different it was to her first bout in the US early 2020 before vaccines. Then she was quite ill and the longest lasting of her symptoms was the lack of taste.
This time, however, she says that she had a 'bit of a headache' for a couple of days which paracetamol sorted. That was it!
She wouldn't have put it down to covid if she hadn't tested herself and partner getting a positive result.

Just an update - it did get over it and without suffering any worse symptoms than I'd had initially. It took a little longer than I'd hoped, I was still testing positive 6 days later. I didn't get a negative result until 8 days after my first positive test.

Very similar to my experience....
My vaccine was 2 x AZ + 1 x Pfizer.
I started testing positive after I had a 'scratchy' cough and a runny nose for a couple of days.
No fever or headache.
Took about 7 days to test negative after the 1st positive.
A very mild experience.

Having read the other thread on the forum, it would appear I now have 'super' immunity.....also to other variants!

My daughter was the first family member to be prescribed favipiravir, when prescribed today. She has to take it in crazy amounts initially as well.

^^ Any reason given for prescribing it?

I'm guessing probably not given the Thai medical way:

Doc: "Take lots of these pills'"
Patient: "OK".

My daughter in the UK has just tested positive today. Runny nose, sore throat and headache.
She's one of the 'super sensible' people. Shows that no matter how you protect yourself, the little bugger can still get in.
Especially P'd off because she was hosting a large event in London tomorrow which she's spent weeks working on and now she has to find a replacement and therefore probably won't get the credit she deserves.
Strangely, her company said they have no problems with her coming into the office and the organisers of the event said they were fine with it but it's her choice.

You don't need food when you're taking favipiravir  :munch:

Not a recovery but a death and this will show how crazy things are here.

1) British guy I didn't know but wife friends with his wife.

2) Suffering from terminal cancer for the past 2 years and had stopped treatment and was at home.

3) His son caught Covid at school a week ago.

4) The man tested positive for Covid the day before he died.

5) Registered cause of death Covid!

6) Body cremated the next morning because of Covid and fear of contagion (Government directive). No time to mourn

Don't believe one damn statistic published here about Covid 19. It's all BS. :banghead:

TIT! Taking it to the ridiculous, if a person is run over by a truck but is positive for covid, it wouldn't surprise me if covid was the reason for the death!!!
