Just because flights are full, doesn't mean they are the airlines most profitable, especially, when flights are restricted by availability of planes, pilots and maintenance staff. That's why BA droppped Bkk, as they could make more using the resources elsewhere.

Looking at the bright side better than none at all, saves going all the way to Bangkok to catch a flight at least on Fridays and Sundays

Very good news, let's hope that demand will keep it open.

Did the upgrade to HH airport ever complete? I think it was only extending the runway for widebody aircraft (obvs not needed in the end)?

I wish they'd start that KL route up again, flying anywhere else in the world appears to be much cheaper from KL than BKK.

Just looked at several flights to Europe from KL and it's definitely not cheaper than flying from BKK

Obviously, prices vary depending on destination, demand, and which month you fly but flying to London was much cheaper from KL in summer, as is Australia, as were many of the places I've been researching for road trips. Skyscanner often shows cheaper flights with a stopover in KL which are less than flying from Bangkok directly ... but I guess there will always be an argument.

That HH <> KL flight was very handy when it ran. No idea why they axed it, it was always full when I flew that route. Probably something to do with immigration (getting through the queue took almost as long as the flight  )
