Do we know what they are doing? It isn't as if the place is so overcrowded that they need more floorspace.

Well the sign with the horse seems to be inviting applications for floor space rental.

No idea but behind the fencing they have ripped up all the pond/water feature that was there originally.

Maybe they are aiming to create some al fresco space?

Maybe they need a tax write off or someone's relatives in the remodel business that need some work.

For me BluPort feels like it has been struggling for years. So many shops selling suitcases or anything that fills the space.
I read somewhere the whole Blueport concept is based on the high speed rail link from Bangkok.
Hope it comes good, but I only buy the odd ice cream in there myself.

Why would someone come from Bangkok, home of numerous enormous & fancy malls, to little ole BluPort mall?

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Thai mall addiction syndrome and aside from eating, what else is there to do here?

A one and half hour train journey, the station behind Bluport, walk and shop and hotels connected by bridge. Another few meters and your on the beach.

I think the Victorians started the concept of a train trip for a day (or two) by the seaside :D

The Hi So's are not going to take a funky train from Bangkok to Hua HIn and the Lo So's can't afford those shops, restaurants and hotels. The Mid So's will drive down in the morning, go to the beach, find a cheap meal and drive back at night. Realistically, the only thing to do here is go to the beach and the beaches in Hua Hin aren't worth the drive. That's probably why there aren't many people on the beaches. That and Covid-19.

No idea and nor has my other half. When I saw this thread I did ask. Easy to do, as I have been In Bkk in any case (back tomorrow). But her involvement with Bluport ends at the end of this month. Still with The Mall Group, but no longer at Bluport

Wonder what happened to the Arapaima? They take years to grow to that size.
