Fifa 2022 World Cup Qatar

Post by Big Boy »

We haven't heard that phrase for a while. :D

England's World Cup 2022 qualifying campaign started with a thrashing against San Marino at Wembley. A 5-0 win without our superstar captain playing.

Goals by Ward-Prowse (14'minutes), Calvert-Lewin (21'minutes, 53'minutes), Sterling (31'minutes), Watkins (83'minutes).

Last night saw Raheem Sterling score his 150th career goal.

I guess the rest of the world will sit up and notice that Gareth's lads are back and they mean business.

England travel to Tirana to face Albania in their next Group I fixture on Sunday, 28 March (17:00 BST) before hosting Poland at Wembley on Wednesday, 31 March (19:45 BST).
Championship Stoke City 3 - 0 Plymouth Argyle

Points 48; Position 20

Should have been 10+ against the worst team in the world. Totally wasteful finishing (30+ shots at goal and at least half of those were decent chances) and some good saves kept the score down. Were it not for Watkins' goal they'd have had their best result ever against us, I believe.

Looked slightly average in the 2nd half (once Sterling was off) having difficulty breaking down a team that wouldn't make the conference in the UK, but the job was already done I guess. No point overdoing it against San Marino and picking up a niggle.

Hopefully the next couple of games will give us a slightly better idea of where England are at. We are, of course, favourites to win the upcoming Euros as usual.

It must be true. Another inspired victory. This time 2-0 against the mighty Albania. Roll on Wednesday, and 3 out of 3.

Of course, with Captain Harry at the helm, how can England fail? I think a larger trophy room may be order of the day.

"Maguire to Stones. Played out to Chilwell. Chilwell passes to Maguire. Maguire to Rice. Played back to Stones. Stones to Maguire. Walker. Walker plays it to Declan Rice. Rice to Maguire. Maguire to Chilwell. Chilwell switches play to Walker. Walker to Stones..."

What a load of shite.

Any teams you're playing in the top 50 - well, aside from Poland perhaps?

[EDIT] Oh, sorry - "It's coming home"

Well, there's always hope after the 6 Nations I guess....... :duck:  :neener:

Nah, Captain Harry and his merry band march on - simply unbeatable, and as Lost rightly points out, still to reach their best.

Absolutely no doubt, It's coming home.

International Football gets in the way of the Premier League and top players should be banned from playing in it. Why not make it an under 19 competition?

At least England did better than Germany who lost 1-2 against North Macedonia who are ranked 65 in the FIFA world rankings!!

Always enjoyable seeing the Scottish on the end of a thumping. Hopefully there's much of the same in the 2nd half. :D

The beauty of seeing Sterling be a part of both goals!

Glad one of those bottles thrown wasn't glass. The Hungarians are actually racist, homophobic, bigoted pieces of shit. Not like the make-believe stuff little idiots try and push on the entire British population.

Edit: and another from Maguire. Get in!
