I am nearly ready to order 5 Air Conditioners for our newly built house.
Does any one have a contact for a trustworthy expert in this field, who speaks English...
they may be an installer, or seller, but someone who will offer honest opinions
Furthermore , id rather give the business to someone local rather than the big discount suppliers in Bangkok
thank you

Re: Air Conditioner Experts
Regardless a seller or installer they will generally have a relationship with one or two brands and push those. It's best to try to make your decision on brand yourself, then find the seller who generally will install as well.
I have a preference for Daikin as have used them for 14 years and they are reliable and have a long life and seldom need repair, but expensive.
Some will say that Mitsubishi is just as reliable, but marginally less expensive.
Then you have a whole list of what I would call mid-range; LG, Samsung, Carrier, Trane and a few others which many people swear by as their experiences have been good.
Then there are the hybrid units with strange brand names, but probably made with components that are present in all the above named brands.
It's a bit of a mine field, and perhaps others on here will indicate which brands they have and what they think?
One universal truth is that you need to have whatever you buy professionally cleaned at least twice a year. More than that if your house is located in an area with a lot blowing dust and dirt.

Now a very contentious issue. To buy an 'Inverter" unit or non-inverter. You need to read up about that. I've had both under the Daikin brand. I can't justify the added initial unit cost vs the savings in electricity, or the slight difference in operating noise. In fact my previous inverter units had repairs needed once or twice a year for one reason or another, and my current non-inverter units have not needed any repair at all over the past 5 years. They want to sell Inverter units as they make more money from them, and they will sing about electricity savings and noise reduction. I simply haven't seen or experienced any of that. Personal choice you need to decide about.

I have 2 Mitsubishis, purchased from and installed by Home Pro. One runs all day, the other all night for over 4 yrs. with no problems. I have them serviced twice yearly by a local shop.

Big Kiang has good selection and prices. They also offer service
live and let live

all the good oil is for either Mitsubishi, the 2 manufacturers or Daikin.
