Sorry thecolonel, I somehow missed your subsequent question. A bit late, but it was 2 mtrs and cost about 700฿. My son was spending my money, so in his opinion, money no object.

Glad you got yourself sorted.

At Lazada you can buy a 1.5 m HDMI cable (full HD) for 25 Baht. This might not be the best one, but you have about 1000 other choices, which are all cheaper than 700 Baht.

Acknowledged/agreed, but my need was immediate, not in several days time.

Lazada is awash with fake/inferior products - if things are too cheap there is probably a reason, I've found that out a couple of times already. I realize there is a massive premium in Hua Hin but where Lazada is concerned, the cheapest is not always the best.

Yup agreed, noone loves a bargain more than me, I assure you, but at 25 baht for an HDMI cable I'll happily choose to miss out. I'll let someone else try that

I'm happy with my 150 baht cable that I can take back if necessary

I have bought earphones from lazada very cheaply and they have been in the bin in a matter of a few days.

I bought one last week at Thai Wassadu in Cha Am. It is an Okker, HDMI 1.4 (OKER HDMI 1.4 Gold Digital Video Cable 1.8m model HD-401). I think it was 169 baht. It works.

So, true. The cable I bought at Thai Wassadu says on the package that it is compatible with ARC. So, I decided to try it. It did not work with my Samsung TV/Soundbar.

But, this is really no surprise. The only HDMI cable that works with my Samsung gear is a cheap, generic HDMI cable that I bought in 2009 so that I could connect a monitor to an Apple Mac mini. The downside of this cable is that it is way too long. I subsequently tried some shorter but expensive high-end cables, but none of them ever worked.
