Only if it's deemed accidental and that's what the ref and VAR agreed on. They removed that subjective element from a goalscorer, I guess next they'll remove it from an assist.

It's pretty much the same as changing laws in any element of life. There will be winners and losers, Maybe FIFA don't have the analytical skills to foresee the consequences of their rule changes?

Whatever, that was quite possibly Untied strongest line-up on display last night. There is something not right there.

And yet in terms of possession and chances, Utd bossed it. I only looked at the brief highlights and Utd hit the woodwork 2 of 3 times so just cms away from getting goals and of course the pretty boy missing his penalty!!

If the guy had not controlled the ball with his hand, intentional or not, the ball would not have dropped at his feet, allowing him to assist the goal.

My worry is knowing what cheats footballers can be, they'll be practicing 'accidental' hand ball on the training ground now. It'll become every bit as much a part of their skills set as feigning a foul to win a penalty. There was a time when it was only Rodney Marsh, but it worked, referees can be stupid, so they all started doing it.

Yes, Utd had their chances and should have wrapped it up by half-time. They didn't, and allowed Boro back into the game. They may not have had many 'highlight worthy' chances, but from the 45 minute mark, Boro were the team pressing.

Manure out and Chelski rattled - not a bad start for the FA Cup!! I shall be watching the 6N Rugby this afternoon obviously, but it's nice to see the arrogant "Big Boys" (no relation to our dear moderator! ), comming up short.

In all seriousness, what has that loss cost Man U and the possible loss to Chelsea?

Chelsea got themselves back in the game and Plymouth will need to up their game if they’re to stay in with a chance.

Yes, but in fairness to Chelsea, you could see the 2 league difference. Man for man they were bigger and stronger. I was very impressed with Chelsea.

I enjoyed the game. Just have to hope we didn't pick up any serious injuries.

Same for Chelsea. Mount and Azpi in particular. Great game, in some respects it was all a bit silly, which probably added to it - and I still look at Werner and think, 'huh'!?

The Chelsea players fly straight off to wherever for the World Club championship or whatever it's called. Their first - and maybe last game - is on Wednesday.
