Green algae near the beach
Green algae near the beach
I have noticed the last couple of weeks that the sea near the beach is green, colored by algae floating seemingly in the whole water column. I’ve been coming here for the last 16 years, and never experienced anything like this. Can anyone explain why this is happening (warming climate, pollution in the sea, or the little green ones from Mars preparing an invasion ) although it isn’t very nice to have a dip in the sea n something that looks like spinach soup, I guess it isn’t dangerous?

I've no idea what it is, but I've noticed the lake at Khao Tao has been a bit green in recent weeks also.

Re: Green algae near the beach
It was in the news a few weeks ago as it happened then, I noticed today it was the same. Happens regularly. Something to do with Plankton, nothing harmful or long lasting.

I remember a few tears ago there was a similar algae bloom for a week or so. It takes the oxygen out of the water and the beach was covered in dead fish, it smelt exactly how you can imagine!
