Replacement Adaptor for BP Machine

Post by Big Boy »

I did mine and Mrs BB's daily blood pressure check today, and when I pulled the plug from the socket, I was minus a pin. Can anybody suggest a shop in Hua Hin (or somewhere close) that I might be able to buy a replacement please? Details on the label are:

C adapter
Model 05000100
190103

Input: 100-240v 50/60Hz 0.3a

Output: DC6V=1A

Efficiency level: IV

DVE©

Made in China

I've found similar on Lazada, but I'm afraid the knobby bit at the end might be the wrong size (such is my technical knowledge)

You could get one with a multi plug adapter. Not sure about the 6V output, maybe just get one with multi switchable output voltage as well. The plug looks smaller than the standard ip camera ones, those are 5.1/2.1 mm outside/ inside diameter

In the meantime, just use batteries. Most blood pressure monitors have the option for them, and alkaline batteries last a long time.

You also have to determine if that missing pin is still stuck in the electrical socket. That is a whole different problem.

Suggest searching in Lazada/shopee for "power adapter omron", replacing omron with your make/model. That way you should get the correct errr... knobby bit.

It makes very little difference which manufacture's name is on any adapter. There is probably only a couple of factories making them, and whoever makes the appliance puts their own sticker on them.

The input 220 volt side is not a problem; what is important is the specs of the output side:

Voltage: in this case 6 volts, DC
Output current: 700 milliamps, or up to 1,000 millamps (1 amp)
Polarity of the output plug: most of these things have the + pole in the centre, - on the outside. There is usually a small molded diagram showing which way around they are.
Diameter of the output plug: Omron use a 4mm plug, but the original needs to be measured.

6 volt adapters are not common, and I would suggest that it is very likely that the Omron specs are standard for these instuments.

For me, ALL of them belong in the rubbish bin! You may be lucky that a pin broke off, it could very well have set on fire! As suggested, batteries are a much better option. The instrument can then be used anywhere without any risk to anybody. Mine gets used several times a day, and the batteries last more than a year.
