Applying for 90 day O Visa
Good afternoon members. Been trying to look at the Thai Embassy site in Sydney but it has been down for a few days. I wish to apply for the 90 day O visa soon. I am getting different info on this visa. So do I need to take out a health insurance with a Thai company from here in Australia? I thought that was only for the OA? Also do I need a medical certificate for this visa. I have all other documents . Many thanks all have a great day

You don't need insurance, or a medical check, they are only interested in the money. The easiest way is to get a tourist visa, and then convert it once you get here. Not sure how much the Oz pension is now, but I don't think it is enough to just use that, as you will need to prove 65k Baht a month. Either that and some deposit account that makes it up to 65k a month.
The hassle free way is to have 800k Baht on deposit in a Thai bank. Not sure what other "documents" you are referring to?

Re: Applying for 90 day O Visa
Thank you Nereus for the info. Yes I can sort the 800k baht plus my pension each month I will let it build up here then transfer when I need it. So finally the embassy site in sydney is back on today? Attached to the download forms for the O visa is a medical certificate do I get my dr to fill this out? Thank again for your help
Re: Applying for 90 day O Visa
A medical certificate is only needed for an 0A visa, not a plain 0. This is another reason to just get a tourist visa and convert it once you get here. Not sure what you mean by "transfer it as I need it". It depends on just what type of income proof that you are using. I will attach the relevant regulations. The only difference between renewal and the first time is the intial time frame.
