Ice cream in Hua Hin

Do you know the story behind the new green carts? I have spotted a couple near me too. What brands do they carry?

No idea, but I assume it is their own brand. My body normally rejects coconut, whether I know it's there or not, so I'm assuming there is none present. Or is my body becoming coconut tolerant?

For me, ice cream are really bad in thailand. You have main industrials brands in 711 or some branchs of Swensen or like that. Taste like chemicals and i really don't know what they put inside. My wife is thai and for first time she went last year in france, spain and italy. She was surprised by the quantity of small shops with home made ice cream....and was really impressed by the natural flavors from fruits they have. She couldn't stopped to tell me " why , we cannot do that in Thailand ?". And yes here in coconut ice cream they add palm oil....

Durian ice cream ... glad I'm on Keto.

Actually, I've tried Durian ice cream and I much preferred it to eating Durian!

I think the spaghetti ice-cream (minus the coconut) in Samero's Gelato Cafe is my favourite in Hua Hin. The eye candy is not too bad either

One of my favourite activities in Hua Hin is exploring the treasure troves that are the supermarket and 7.11 ice cream frezzers. Thailand is definitely one of the best countries on the planet for ice cream. So many new, and exotic flavours to explore, and all at very reasonable prices. Which brands and varieties are your favourites?

wait wait wait - so Hua Hin with it's beaches, restaurants, bars, massage parlours and utterly spoilt for golf courses and your favourite activity is 7-11 freezers? Nah I'm calling wind-up!

I'm not a great lover of ice cream (I'll eat it and enjoy it when it's there).

My daughter who visits at least twice a year is an ice cream lover. She's always remarked that Thailand has so many flavours of 'cornetto' which are not available in the UK.

That may be so, but a Cornetto is not exactly the pinnacle of ice cream luxury - made in a big factory with few quality ingredients.

We used to have an elderly guy come round on a motorcycle with sidecar selling just coconut ice cream - I don’t know what the full ingredients were, but it was the best coconut ice cream I’ve had in Thailand - sadly he no longer trades.

I used to be the same with tropical fruit, but again, there is such an abundance here, it seems ridiculous to ignore.

My daughter who visits at least twice a year is an ice cream lover. She's always remarked that Thailand has so many flavours of 'cornetto' which are not available in the UK.

They also have much better cones that the Glico brand.

You can find Magnums in many countries, but can you find new, unique flavors such as Pomegranate, Red Velvet, Tiramisu? The same goes for Cornetto, with Classic Ovaltine, Royal Strawberry and Cornetto Rainbow Pop, a multicoloured mix of ice cream, caramel and pop rocks all in one cone. In Thailand, even Paddle Pop Twisters come in tropical fruit flavours like mango.
