I’m coming to Hua Hin next week to play golf
Is it best to book tee times through the golf club websites
Or do it thru Golfsavers (online bookings)?

Thanks😃⛳️

I think just phone the clubs up - you'll get the same or better price plus less chance of a tee time mix up

Also until Sept 1st I would swerve Springfield - you will have to play the dreaded C course which is horrible - from Sept 1st you get to play on A and B again.

Are you quite sure on those dates for A course please?

I was told mid October by the caddie master 3 weeks ago

Good news if you're right

Thanks

Yes I was originally told october too, but Michael (club pro) told my caddy Sep 1st. I've also got a tee time for that very day on A+B. Subject to change I guess but looking good for that day, the next time I see C course will be never !

I was also told, so obviously second hand, they were made aware they were losing their audience and actually, finally, and no doubt through gritted teeth, recruited some course professionals!

Sorry,

I just don't get why people are so against C course at SF. Sure, it's difficult.

I played it today and thought it was in decent condition. OK, the greens are still cored but, for me, they were a consistent speed.

I love C course but it can bring me to me knees sometimes.

I think you've answered your own question.

Why play on a crap 9 holes when we are absolutely spoilt for choice around here. SF management clearly agree by bringing forward the re-opening of A, it's costing them

I said it was in decent condition. Didn't think there was much difference to B.

As a member I played B a month ago and haven't been back since due to the utterly disgraceful condition

Even though I've paid my green fees I'd rather play elsewhere than look at that shit!

I assume by course professionals you mean greenkeepers?

I was in HH and Cha Am last week
I played Black Mountain twice because it was so good and Palm Hills

BM was immaculate… caddies fantastic.
I played alone and booked over the phone (English no problem)
Teed off at 7:30 and finished at 10:30 on Monday
Teed off at 6:08 and finished at 8:08 on Friday

Palm Hills is a pretty course, good fairways and tee boxes
Greens had just been sanded so very slow
Caddy was very good
Again I played alone
Teed off 7:30 finished just after 10:30

If you want to get back before it gets too hot and avoid slow rounds then the early tee times are ideal
Back at hotel in time for breakfast! 555

I'd love to play at that time I really would.

I just wish my body would cooperate at that time of day, either for sleeping the night before or for the athletic movement in the golf swing.

Sadly neither happens

Sorry only just seen your message - no I was told they drafted in some 'advisors' as the planned upgrade, as expected by the members who have experience of Springfield management, was turning in to a mess (now bourne out). The current 'greenkeeper' is fully ingratiated with the owner so sadly won't be going anywhere soon. Totally out of his depth.

I recall also telling you 'A' would open Sept 1st (subject to the aforementioend management subject to change) - well guess what, we turned up on the morning of Sep 1st and told minutes before we were due out, it was now off and we were back on C !!

So a delay of three weeks (which is now at least 4) - oh BUT if you get there between 6-8am you can get on A now as a kind of limited opening. By all accounts its a mess, the greens have been upgraded but the approaches are bald as the grass they planted didn't take, the fairways haven't been worked on and the bunkers are still bereft of sand. Also in the last 2 months, any caddie that took a customer around A to look at it would face instant dismissal. (Why?)

They have no management at all, no-one who will field any concerns/questions, no-one who will address slow play etc, the course marshall or caddie marshall is utterly useless and in all the years I've been there never seen him get out of his buggy let alone address a problem, last Thursday there were just 31 players which for that club (and the 350 caddies) is a disaster. Springfield Golf Club right now is a shipwreck which is an absolute tragedy given it's the best layout bar none in my opinion, and it doen't look like it's going to get any better.

Oh 'B' is scheduled to be ripped up from March so again back on 'C' - if they have any members left by then, that should finish them off ! I've heard there is a flight of memberships to Majestic.

Couldn't agree more with your comments

My latest 2 year deal with them had been a disaster

But then again I heard the condition had I improved last month or so??

I know they'd shut B as soon as A opened

Worst run 'club' (facility) in HH
