For some reason (probably linked to his foul-mouthing of staff), I’ve never liked him - as a chef I’m sure he’s near the top of his game, but as a person, nearer the bottom.

You look at Jamie Oliver and his restaurant chain disaster, you think why do these guys do it? Did Ramsey invent a better mousetrap?

Well we wont be eating there, some of these guys are well over rated. My wife can cook much better and does not have her own TV show.

Yeah, I like Rick Stein and his shows too. He adds in a travel show mixed with his cooking. I especially found his Cornwall shows good. I think his roots are there.

Second Rick Stein and have been watching his programmes about Cornwall recently - I also quite like the Hairy Bikers for the same reason”down to earth” reason, whereas Mr Ramsey thinks he’s a cut above that

Emsphere, built on the old Washington Square, will be pleased, or rather, The Mall Group, who own it, will be. A big name draw like Ramsey, should attract the hordes, as well as the first IKEA in Central Bkk.

To be fair thats because he is, trained by the best and awarded shedloads of Michelin stars. Comparing him to Jamie Oliver is like comparing Michelangelo to Rolf Harris! As with most things in life, you get what you pay for.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 4:35 pm Second Rick Stein and have been watching his programmes about Cornwall recently - I also quite like the Hairy Bikers for the same reason”down to earth” reason, whereas Mr Ramsey thinks he’s a cut above that

I've eaten at Rick Steins down in Padstow a few times, very nice food and location but locally he's as popular as the plague!
