Re: Routine expat Blood Donors request
Apparently the under 60 years limit is to protect the donorโs health as red blood cells take longer to regenerate in the over 60โs
Re: Routine expat Blood Donors request
Does anyone know if they have blood storage facilities anywhere in HH so those with these super-rare groups can stash some for emergencies?

Re: Routine expat Blood Donors request
My late wife had that problem last year. Blood only keeps for I think two or three months so it has to be ditched after it expires. Hospitals will check around for urgent cases if they have none and may find some. People should check with Red Cross Hua Hin Blood Service too (near the Municipality office, it's on on Google Maps).
Also there is a member (possibly the manager) of the Facebook page "Thailand Emergency BLOOD Donation Rh-" that coordinates between possible donors and recipients, she does amazing work. We found three European donors of Rh-negative blood in HH and Phuket at short notice, two donated and one came to the hospital to give a transfusion. You could send a message to that group and ask for help.
Do you have a current need or are you just curious? I could help coordinate.
Re: Routine expat Blood Donors request
No current need, and thanks for the offer. Just curious and thinking ahead as I'm group O negative which is as rare as rocking horse shit in Asia!
