I think Thaksin must be living in cloud cuckoo land if he thinks that Thailand could attract 600,000 foreigners willing to deposit $1m each for a golden visa!!

Its the same old story, "we want the millionaires and their money, but we're only offering them a two-star service and will treat them like glorified tourists."

Its Thailand ... not Monte Carlo and I reckon the millionaires would prefer the Dubai golden visa:

Wealthy people, it seems to me, have so many other, more stable destinations, without constant reversals in visa policy and an increasingly venal attitude toward foreigners. But Thailand, with its ego, thinks it's the center of the world.
