You have several options:
1) Bus from southern terminal: taxi to southern bus terminal (250Baht), bus to Hua Hin (every 40 mins) 128 Baht, 2.5 hours.

2) Taxi direct around 1,500 to 2,000 baht dependant on your bargaining skills.

3) Flight, around 1,200 baht (not sure on price as have never done it) 45 mins.

4) Train..... if you have the time and are on a serious budget

Last time I went from Hua-Hin to Bangkok Airport for 1600B.
If its possible to order a taxi-service from Hua-Hin to wait for me on the airport ? Or are there allways taxis availble?
I guess taxis on Bangkok Airport can be very expensive !!

I had exactly the same question myself - these are good hints (next month will arrive in BKK airport and need to go directly to HH). Will try the direct taxi from the airport and let you know what price I'm able to negotiate.

just come out from air port building to front bus stop and take bus number 29 (red & whit)and pay 3bhat & 50cent and get off in oplampong ( rilway station )and take the train to huahin with not more then 100bhat. or take bus number 13 from same bus stop to world trad center and to opposit said means front of world trad center take # 11 air condation to (say tai) southren bus station , and take huahin bus with 110 bhat .. if you are new and you have enough amount of cash in your pocket and you fell that you have to be care full then ( take the limo at 600 or 1000bhat ) to hua hin also wen you pay fare to liom counter front of limo driver , tray to take out from your pocket not too mauch crency and tray to pay it in thai bhat .. ( just mattar of securety ).

If anyone is considering hiring a car and driving, be aware that the police have a scam going. You leave the airport and then go on the elevated expressway - one cop looks for farang driving and radios another 2 cops near the enterance to the tollway. They pull you over and ask to see license - of course you dont have an international one. Of coure I didn't have one I should say. Cop says follow me back to station for 2000 baht fine OR we can settle this now (and you can be on your way) for 1000 baht. Of course you pay. Girlfriend only realised later on that cop had extorted me (she was in the backseat) and told me the fine should have been around 200 baht. So if considering driving, get an international license.

The drive down was actually surprisingly easy and having a car here is great.

There are lots of signs on "taxis" offering to go to the airport for 1600 baht. Going the other way, from the airport to Hua Hin, may be a touch more expensive.

About the police scam...One friend lives at BKK, he has international driving licence, which doesn't help...Police has stopped him couple of times at expressway, and said he was speeding. But he WAS NOT...2000 baht thank you. Now he speaks fluent thai, it's "only" 1000 baht. He has a fair well payed job in BKK though. I'm glad, underpaid police gets part of hes income. Those heroic men in brown.

Taxis BKK/HH/BKK

Interesting topic. Transfers from BKK to HH and the alleged closure of HH airport etc. Bangkok Air run a good service with truly delightful air-hostesses, but to my chagrin, they are closed at New Year when I am flying in from Scotland on the 30th Dec. It would be ideal to do a deal for a two-way taxi service from airport to HH and back at the end of my three-week stay. Any contacts or info welcome. 8)

Morning All

I have just logged onto the Airport to find out about flights to Koh Samui and the possible flight back up to Bangkok end of May only to be informed that it has been closed ad infinitum.

Does anyone know why and for how long.

I appreciate the help
