Bad News

Post by PeteC »

Just a few headlines as I'm too much of a disgusted American at the moment to elaborate.

1) John Karr has been released, he is a free man. California prosecutors did not have enough (or any) evidence to go to trial on child porn charges. It did not say if the feds would now try to institutionalize him or, try to get their money back for his free flight Thailand to USA. He is forever blacklisted here so should be no worries about him coming back.

2) The US military establishment has placed all of Thailand off-limits to any military personal in regards to holidays, annual leave etc. I assume because of the coup. Interesting to see if ships arrive, what will they do, keep 6,000 sailors on-board playing shuffle board? :( Pete

If this is true (not doubting you Pete), then the bars of Pattaya will be awash with tears.

This one was not published. It came from a friend on active duty, with air tickets for Thailand this week, to run in various HASH events coming up here and in other places in Asia. All is scrapped per DOD directive. I'm really not surprised we can't win a war anymore with that type of mentality and bureaucracy, idiots! Pete

PS: High season is coming. Girls should be all smiles.
