Restaurants in Hua Hin? Best Thai? Arabic? Lebanese?

Post by Erica »

Can anyone suggest where we can get good Arabic food, (preferably Lebanese), in Hua Hin?

Gather from the 'kebab' thread that there are no good Turkish restaurants there?

We went to the Pasta Factory on our last visit (in June), and it was memorably awful. Tiny portions, large bill and so noisy! But gleaned good Italian rest ideas from another strand here.

Would be interesting in learning of the best Thai restaurant for a bunch of farangs who cannot tolerate spicey food. (There are some of us you know!)

This reply has nothing to do with your post, so I apoligize in advance. Funny story though.

Here in Pattaya there is a restaurant named "Turkey Tom's". As the vast majority of expats and tourists here are northern European/American, the conclusion was/still is that this is a place that serves full table turkey dinners and perhaps, may even prepare holiday birds to take home.

NOT...LOL. It is full fledged Turkish restaurant. The last time I drove by it there was a big sign..." WE DO NOT SERVE TURKEY!". Pete

THer are no Arabic or Turkish restaurants in Hua Hin.

As for no-spicy Thai food there are many. Thai food often does not have hot spicdes in iy. You normally add them yourself to msuit your own taste.

Hmmm... very good Idea for my Turkish firend to move to Hua Hin and open a Turkish Restaurant as he is a young aspiring CHef himself.
Let's see how he responds to this Idea but it will have an impact for his family three young children and two Teenage Childs to move from Berlin a Big city to a small city like Hua Hin!!!!!

If you are really serious about avoiding spicy food, and your budget permits, I suggest you stick with the restaurants in the major international hotel chains -- Hilton, Sofitel, Marriott, and Hyatt. They will definitely prepare your meals according to your taste.

You might also be lucky with some of the (numerous) restaurants on the road that runs in front of the Hilton (Naresdamri Road) and the seafood places towards the fishing pier. They generally have English-speaking staff and are accustomed to accommodating the tastes of farangs.
