OMG, Sarge! Are you on the mend now? Still in hospital or out now? So sorry to hear about that. If I can do anything, just give me a ring.

That is not good news. Take care of yourself and be sure to listen to the Docs concerning diet/lifestyle change etc., if called for. This could well be a wake up call. Get well. Pete

Thanks for your kind thoughts i was in Hua Hin Hospital for 7 days i am on about 14 pills a day rattle like maracas and at present after a bad few days its the ciggy withdrawal thing thats really really hard but mrs sarge deserves me so i will stop promise and yes pete i am listening hard

Apparrently i need a stent for my left artery/vien supplying blood to the heart i think i will get that done in england in july and get some of my tax back

Total cost 15659baht for the 7 days including one months worth of pills up to my next appointment full of praise for the Hua Hin hospital yet again doctors nurses and patients all had a good sense of humour after a small nudge and my tin shack buddies as good as any medicine

Glad to hear you are on the mend and well looked after sarge. Take it as a shot across the bows and good luck in getting the treatment you need, wherever you eventually get it done. I would suggest you might be better off having it done here because there is likely to be a longish waiting list in the UK, although that probably depends where you are in the UK.

Or how much you're willing to pay in the UK. Unless you have some sort of health insurance in the UK, I think you could be looking at a long waiting list, or a massive bill.

Out of interest Sarge, as an ex-serviceman you'd have been eligible to join the Benenden scheme - did you, and have you kept up the payments (only 1 pounds 10 pence per week)? If you did, you'll probably get sorted within a month.

I've just used them for my wife - fantastic service (after being let down badly by the NHS) - 6000 pounds worth of treatment, and no arguments - just got on with it.

Sarge

Keep your pecker up

Which hospital?

Why UK? Bumrungrad in BK would be better and quicker

We are all rooting for you

Fags (sorry ciggies) are bad news so go for it. I'm one to talk on my 40 a day

Cheers and look forward to your recovery

Must have taken the wrong club that brought it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps

Sarge sorry to go on but take in the messages about lifestyle changes

Fags and booze and food

Twice Mrs Richard and a very good friend has saved my life because of my self abuse by rushing me up to the Bumrungrad. Saved my life but lumbered with DVT for life

Being a boozer and ciggie merchant Oh and being a stubborn Yorkshireman I ignore all and sundry

Role on, get better and we will have a beer ( no a coke) to celebrate

I really agree with Richard on this one Sarge, given what happened, what you say you now have, and what you need done. Why risk the trip to the UK unless there is some kind of overwhelming financial consideration. Long haul flights have been known to seriously clot blood as you know. Mrs. Sarge would be much happier also I'm sure if you had it done here.

Below is the link. You can probably get an approximate cost quotation via email contact. Pete
