Posting Heavy Stuff to the UK!

Post by hollygolightly1 »

Does anyone know the cheapest way to send heavy parcels to the UK? A friend of mine is going home with too much for her suitcase.

Airfreight, door-to-door. It'll cost you, but at least you won't have to go through the customs clearance, declarations, et cetera if you seafreight.

My sister once went crazy shopping at Chatuchak (her comments: 'Everything's so cheap!!'), I don't think she's in too much of a hurry to do that again... :)

Some airlines offer this sort of service where you can check in large amounts of baggage at the airport in advance and have it flown at air frieght rates instead of as excess baggage, which makes it a lot cheaper.
