Trouble with Emoticons

I've been having trouble adding the lach emoticon today, Every time I selected the lach emotican from the selection page I lost all text that I had already written ie all that was on the new post screen was the lach

In the end I had type the whole thing ie:

Newcastle???

thought I'd report it in case it was another bug with last week's upgrade.

No problems here, modifications to the board did not affect emoticons. To get the desired emoticon, type ": lach :" without the spaces;

I've just tried it again, and its working fine. No idea what went wrong earlier today, but thanks for checking anyway.
