Was just going to ask the same thing, never heard of the place but would give it a try.
 Which helps confirm the theory "there is no such thing as bad publicity!"
Yes, there is. I did know where it was, I had planned to try it & now I won't bother. I don't go out often enough to waste one of those times in a place that's not up to standard. (So, arguably, I'm no loss to business, anyway)

If other people want to waste their time or money to prove that they don't believe someone else's opinion, up to them. I've eaten in so many places that make cr@p Mexican food, I really don't need to add another to the list.

I'd give the place a chance, it's just opened and the guy's trying to get his biz up and running. One bad review and one ok one. Dawn if you eat there and don't like it you can always complain, maybe get a free meal.

We could even just listen to the opinions of all food critics in the world then we wouldn't be able to eat out at ANY restaurant unless it was an esquisite 7 star Fantasia located on the island of Nervana.

We ate there in May (if you mean the Mexican that was Papa John's ), it was very nondescript and not cheap. The food would not make you ill but I personally would not go back, although we only tried 3 dishes.

Off topic anyone know where you can get a good steak in Hua Hin?

Uno's in Takiep is one of the best.

Many places do a great steak in Hua Hin, just try them all!

I've heard the Marriott do excellent steaks (but not cheap). I can personally recommend Crawfords Cha Am.

Sorry if i appeared harsh, but the food was not even close. I love Mexican food and in fairness to this restaurant i havent found a decent one in Hua Hin. I heard that the owner of Phillips bar cooks good Mexican food but he is rarely here.

Steaks,

Uno is good - good service also.
Bann Monta - on the road to the beach just before Sofitel entrance.
Brassieire de Paris

Enjoy everyone.

Just found this thread after posting. I've just eaten there & found all to be excellent & a lot of other restraunts could learn a thing or two. I've just bought a Triumph Rocket 3. If I'd listened to some of the so called experts who have given their opinions on my bike I would'nt have bought it. As it happens having ridden every type of bike there is this its the DOGS BOLLOCKS. Most of the people who slagged it have never ridden one! motto being. Don't listen to critics, TRY! You never know till you do. ENJOY!
I never forget a face but in your case I'll make an exception!

JW. That's a bit of a harsh statement coming from a guy who purpotedly runs a restaurant come pub?
I've eaten and drank at your place and "glass houses" would come to mind.
I see you're now in the property business........Be very careful!

I may be mistaken but I thought this was a thread about opinions on the quality of FOOD at the restaurant named.

H20Dunc... Is every post you make from now on gonna involve your 2300cc ( 2100cc too much to drive safely on the roads of Thailand ) piece of metal?

When you have finished with your metal companion you could even consider getting yourself a real human friend! These human companions generally come at a very reasonable price and can be found almost anywhere.

Why is it harsh if it's what JW thought? I don't remember you having a go at anyone for their views on the thread about a certain Italian eating establishment, where some of the views were stronger than JW's here.

I don't know what your last statement is supposed to mean, but if it's a threat, of any sort, I would advise you to be very careful, particularly when you reread our t&c's, which I would strongly advise you to do.

Have to say JW's pub is one of the few in HH that I enjoy visiting. Have you tried their delicious cheesy nacho's?

As for the bad publicity of this guys Mexican Place, if you read all the posts, most people still said that they will try it out.

From the OP's original post, he seems to have generated the guy some business and also informed a lot of people exactly where it is located.

So much for bad publicity.
If I normally find a place is that bad, I normally go again, just to see if it was a one off thing, if it still the same I would never go again.

You may go another night and there may be different chef and staff that make the evening an enjoyable experience.

I also find with the Thai places in HH and may be the case with this place, they tend to cater for people who do not like authentic Thai food with all the correct amount of spice and hotness that it should have.

May be he is trying to do the same and in doing so, is spoiling the taste of the food.

Perhaps a quiet word in the owners ear may pay dividends to you all that live there and loke mexican food.
