Should you guys worry or not

Post by Bamboo Grove »

So far we´ve had a vast majority of Hhaders who are from Britain (see the poll). Now I came across this article and I´d like to know how many of you actually have the number the number two as your real name? Buks, Lomu, Wonderly, Guess, Jockey and the rest of you, come on, be honest now.
LONDON: Muhammad is now the second most popular name for baby boys in Britain, next only to Jack, and is likely to become the most sought after name by the year end, a study indicated on Wednesday.

The name, if all 14 different spellings are included, was shared by 5,991 new-born boys last year, beating Thomas into third place (5,921), followed by Joshua (5,808) and Oliver (5,208). There were 6,928 baby boys named Jack in 2006.

Muhammad, which means "one who is praiseworthy", is often given to boys as an honorary prefix and is followed by the name by which they are commonly known. It is regularly cited as the most common name in the world, though there is no concrete evidence.

Scholars told the Times the name's rise up in the league table was driven partly by the growing number of young Muslims having families, and the desire to name their child in honour of the Prophet.

It may be popular now, but give it 5 years and it'll be overtaken by a Polish name.

BG, I think Jack as a boy’s name, first or second, is a bit of a modern trend as I don’t remember there being any about when I was at school. My second name is John and I remember that being pretty common at the time. I’m always thankful for my parents choosing simple inoffensive names, as I would have hated to have been a Tarquin or a Peregrine.

As I remember, Jack was always a nickname for John. It's derived from the French name Jaques (their equivalent of John). So Johns and Jacks are of the same origin!

So in a few years we can expect people to be called a name like Pledge or Mr Sheen, or maybe you are thinking of Kiwi if there was an influx of New Zealanders :?
