Im planning a couple of weeks holiday soon and quite fancy a look at this area. Has anyone been there recently and got any feedback that may be useful to me.

This time of year gooze you have to really watch the weather. Trat and Chantaburi provinces are getting deluges daily these days. Pete

I went last July and although had a nice cabin style accommodation on the beach, we got rained out. Lots of power cuts and roads flooded so I left after a week to find drier weather and ended up in Jomtien. And if you drive there watch out for the police. We got stopped and fined on the way there and on the way back.

There is a useful website with a helpful owner. I think its ianatkochang.com. If not search ian kohchang and you will find it.

Gooze, I presume you mean the big Koh Chang? There is also a small idylic little Koh Chang off the coast of Ranong. If all you want to do is chill then its ideal. No cars , roads or much to do just small bungalows on the beach. At the moment though it appears to be wet everywhere. The wife and I rode down to Krabi for a few days and though the rain held off on the ride its a bit wet now. Still its a change from being at home, new food, new bars and new people. Hoping to do the 4 island tour tom, Fingers crossed. Even when it rains here it beats being back home, Enjoy :thumb:
I never forget a face but in your case I'll make an exception!
