Foreign Currency Deposit

Post by Farang »

If one has some sort of proof of permanency of one’s existence in Thailand (such as retirement or
dependent visa or work permit), one can now have one’s ill-gotten proceeds in foreign currency
of one’s choice in a Thai bank.
Recently I had a cash deposit required for the visa in Kasikorn Bank Thai Baht account.
Being concerned of currency fluctuations I converted the loot in the bank into Euros and
deposited the monies on Euro account. I even get 1.7 %.

Easy as you please, no hassle, no mounds of paper-work and very ably and well served by
the Assistant Manager Mr. Visut of Phetskasem Road Kasikorn Branch. He speaks excellent
English and is quite as efficient and friendly as all other Kasikorn people. I’ve been banking
with them eight years and am very, very satisfied with them in every way.

This all might be old hat, but if you have the cash deposit for the visa money,
and are concerned of currencies, this might be the road to take.
