Ma Maa See Ka

Post by PeteC »

I put this one here rather than Foo as it really belongs here. Aimed at Dawn and her son and any others with Thai families.

Above loosely translated means "I'm a dog with four legs".

It is a movie made this year and now on DVD/VCD and available in the Thai shops. I was also told it's available in English and the movie itself was also released in either the UK or the USA, or both....cinema festival type...not big time.

A really good family film inclusive of a dog love story, dog injury, dog saved etc. The cast is 90% dogs and they all talk and act, not a cartoon. It includes a good slice of Thai life from the human angle as well. That's why I put under "Life in Thailand" as we can learn from it.

My two year old now watches it daily, I think we're up to 50 plays already, and she actually knows each of the main dog characters by name. A kids movie that really isn't a kids movie if you can understand that.

You don't need to understand Thai to watch the Thai version, the story and meaning comes through perfectly. Less than 200 Baht and money very well spent. :D Pete

It's been playing at our house almost non stop for a few weeks now. My nipper plays it over and over again.

Good story, I still cringe when I see the poodle wearing knickers though.

We had to buy a second copy from 7/11 as the first one is sticking already.

That sounds familiar! I don't know what it is but my lass is really hooked on it also.

What I didn't mention above; great comedy, drama and a good slice of Thai life. If you don't walk around the next day after watching it with a smile and feeling content about being here, something is wrong. But, I'm just an old softy. :D Pete

Somebody on another forum pm'ed me & told me it was good & I should take littl'un (this is when it was on at the cinema) but we never got around to it. :(

We don't have a DVD or VCD player, either. We did have a VCD player, but it was a tiny one & the dogs got it

If those dogs won`t give it back, or let you borrow it, then don`t buy them anymore batteries for it. :)
