Hi Barry.

It will be a new car, most likely a Isuzu or Toyota pickup.

You should be able to arrange finance with the dealer.

Isuzu have a deal going on the new MU7, with 1.?? % interest.
A friend of mine recently bought one in Bangkok and he had to put down approx 225,000 Baht for a 1 - 1.2 million baht vehicle
They are also promoting this car in the Market Village.

I took out finance 2 years ago on a Toyota, and put it in my wifes name until we had paid for it. The repayments were charged at 2.3%. Once it was paid for I transferred it into my own name.

Toyota required a letter from my wifes employer before they would approve the finance - despite the fact she does not have a job.

Hi Ricardo

So how did you get around that? Did you end up being her employer?

Hi Jimmy

You could probably write up your own letter. My sister in law wrote one for my wife stamped with the tour company she was working for.

We had an informal interview with their finance guy. Where we explained it was my money that was being used to buy the car and that my wife didn't work.
He didn't object and said everything was fine and that the finance would go through but could we provide a letter concerning my wifes employment.

Hi JG

I recently bought a new Toyota 4 door pick-up.
20% down and the balance over 4 years at 3.4%.

Bought it in my company's name with 1 guarantor (Thai/falang couple, though without substantial assets).

The whole thing was completed in 3 days.
