Dear all,
I moved from The Netherlands to Hua Hin with my (all Western) family. Since 1.5 years Dutch law states that most foreigners need to be familiar with some (basic) Dutch language and culture before coming to The Netherlands to settle down. I am planning to set up an integration course for Thai people that met Dutch people, fell in love and want to emigrate to The Netherlands. Before setting up this business (and thus making necessary investments) I would like to hear from you (long term Hua Hin experts) if you heard of any requests out of the local market on this subject? Any reply is welcomed!

Ik ben samen met mijn (geheel Westers) gezin van Nederland naar Hua Hin verhuisd. Sinds 1,5 jaar stelt de Nederlandse wet dat de meeste buitenlanders voordat ze naar NL emigreren moeten beschikken over wat (basis-)kennis van de Nederlandse taal en cultuur. Ik ben van plan om een integratiecursus op te zetten voor Thaise mensen die een Hollander hebben ontmoet, verliefd zijn geworden en een leven in NL op willen bouwen. Voordat ik mijn zaakje opstart zou ik van jullie (ervaren Hua Hin bewoners) willen weten of je in Hua Hin vragen over dit onderwerp hebt vernomen? Elk antwoord is welkom!

Leuk idee, maar Hua Hin is zeer zeker te klein voor iets dergelijks. Zelfs Pattaya lijkt me de vraag. Enige kans van slagen om er werkelijk brood mee te kunnen verdienen zou Bangkok zijn. Maar zelfs dan. Ik zou eerst eens bij de ambassade informeren hoeveel Thais er jaarlijks een aanvraag indienen voor een permanente verblijfsvergunning in Nederland. Niet bedoeld om je idee de grond in te boren hoor, maar ik sta er wat sceptisch tegenover (7 jaar in Thailand waaronder ook in Bangkok en Pattaya).
Nice thought, but I reckon Hua Hin is certainly too small for a business idea like this. Even Pattaya is doubtful. Only option - if you want to make a living out of it - would be Bangkok. But even then. First of all I would ask the embassy how many Thais yearly apply for permanent residentship in The Netherlands. Do not mean to sound all that negative but I am sceptical to be honest (7 years in Thailand also in Bangkok and Pattaya).
