Groundhog Day

Post by Big Boy »

Its Groundhog Day again for England after being drawn in the same group as Croatia for the World Cup 2010 Qualifiers.

Scotland get another easy ride, having to play less games in their group than any other, and only 1 decent opponent, Holland.

Now come on Big Boy, the Jocks have been known to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory many times before, doesen't matter how easy the teams are they play.

Hulltoon if the boot was on the other foot they would be sticking the boot in on us.
Still there is always one thing we can say, and that is at least we have won the World Cup.
Once only, but is still one more than the Jocks and can never ever seeing that changing. They may get closer than they ever have, but winning it, I do not think so.
Next time they qualify it will still a good idea to to carry on that famous Scottih tradition of writing the holiday postcards on the flight out, because I still think the team will be home quicker than the postcards.

It would appear that some of our posters are a little bit out of touch with reality.

To my knowledge Scotland have won the World Cup on at least two occasions,

And that's not counting 1967 when we gubbed you in your first title defence :thumb:

Congratulations to the Jocks for their wins,

I must admit that it took a long time for the search engine to find the links which is not surprising trying to search for "Scotland" and "World Cup" in the same search is a bit challenging. Poor old google took 7 min 43 secs and came up with not a lot :P :P :P

Condo these search engines can really search the bottom of the barrel for information nowerdays can't they.
Must have a section now for insignificant sporting results. Had you searched under that, they would probably been top of the list and saved you a lot of your valuable time :P

It's hardly my fault that the search engines you use are like the England back four. :P :P

Sincere apologies Don, in addition to Golf and Elephant Polo my search engine, recycled from an old Ford Anglia, has just come back with a lad from Kircaldy who won the World cup at darts a couple of times.

Sporting prowess north of the border knows no bounds

Aaahh...........the good old days of Jocky Wilson  Now there was a sporting God. A finely tuned athlete with an amazing physic

I think Jocky was the first sports superstar, with his Hollywood good looks, he really paved the way for impersonators like Beckham to cash in

On a serious note I believe Jocky is back staying in a one-bedroom flat in Kirkcaldy, living on disability allowance.
