The car rental scam

Post by nevets »

It seams that according to the NATION today, that the 10 police involved in the scam will not get criminal charges against them.

How can the Thai people have respect for a system that allows its police to get away with black male, extortion and murder. NO WONDER that the police are despised and not trusted by anyone in Thailand. :cuss:

Maybe I was reading a different report, but I didn't see anything about 'black male extortion, and murder'.

The report I read was about gullible (I know hindsight, etc. etc.) but ... letting companies use their cars, in the hope (or promise) that they'd receive an awful lot of money in rentals. Did any of you 'clock' the name of the company? I laughed so much I nearly fell off my slightly wobbly office chair when I read it - Yufuku was the name of the company. Now, is it me, or does the name suggest some kind of rip-off?

Yes it's sad, the wide-boys taking advantage of the ones in need of a bit of extra cash, when they can't make the repayments on their new Honda Civic. It's sadly a dog-eat-dog world out there (anywhere, not just Thailand).

I suppose you're talking about some blackmailers and not a black male?
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

It would seem that people would rather take the trouble to pick me up on the way i write and spell , than talk about the topic i have offered to the board .
I am an electrical engineer and spelling was never my strong point , but i thought i would join a blog forum anyway , but im thinking its not worth it.

nevets,
I think you are being a bit over sensitive - only 2 others have responded, Vital Spark, who gave an honest view and just quoted what you said, and not to highlight your spelling I don't think; and Norseman was maybe making a joke but I think probably just clarifying for other readers. I didn't know anything about this story, but it would help discussion if you either copy and paste the news report or provide a link to it, if it is available on the internet. I've just had a look and found this story in today's Nation so I hope that helps.
