Using a Speedtouch 330 ADSL Modem in Thailand

Post by Sorrento10 »

At home in the UK I use a Speedtouch 330 ADSL modem when connecting to broadband.

Will this work in Thailand (assuming an ADSL connection is avialable) or will I need to buy a new modem?

Many thanks

Dave

Hello There Sprremto10

Most big internet providers (e/g/ True corp.ect) Have their own Modems that their chinese made ADSL Modemsbut if you are a Computerhead and can crack the instaalation software oto work on your modem you should be OK. But ADSL is availabel in major cities in Thailand. If available in Hua HIn than for a hefty pricetag!

Almost all high speed lines here are ADSL, only a few are SDSL. As long as you know how to configure your modem and your modem supports the right encapsulation (usually PPPoE), you should be ok.

Hua Hin offers several different ADSL packages, from companies like TOT, TT&T, CAT & soon (I heard) True Internet.

p.s. just found some very useful information on a sister site ;)
