Breaking Sports News

Post by chelsea »

To all you out there that slagged the living crap out of John Terry after the Champions League last week, bad luck your comments obviously did not get back to Capello in the UK, because he has just been made Englands captain.

Thought you all would like to share in the good news

I have one thing to say to you all :neener:

Well apparently they had a meeting this morning and Cappello named Gerrard captain, at this point Terry ran out crying and screaming and locked himself in the toilet shouting "Im not playing with you lot anymore then" until Cappello coaxed him out with the promise he could be England captain for the game.

Nothing will change the fact that Terry acted like an animal towards another professional footballer, and has been guilty of a number of other on and off pitch misdemeanours which do not make him fit in many people's eyes to be England captain. Capello has just made his first mistake. He has smeared the reputation of England by choosing that man. i hope Terry suffers a career ending injury in the match. :guns:

Why not dtaai-maai? I detest the man and everything he represents. I haven't said I want him dead, just that I would like it that he never plays football again. It's not as if he would be in the poor house is it?

England's reputation was already smeared when they chose Capello and Eriksson as managers. By choosing these foreigners they are sending the message Englishmen are unable to manage. How embarrassing.

RNR, how ill informed you are. Have just listened to the press conference he just had about the upcoming matches and all was spoken in English.

WL I cannot believe what you have just stated re serious injury to a professional sportsman.
Perhaps with that sort of attitude, were you the instigator of burning effigys of David Beckham in the East End, and wishing harm to him and his family when he got sent off against Argentina in the World Cup. :D

Jockey, I do not suppose that Bertie Vogts smeared Scotlands reputation in his years in charge of Scotland. Do not remember them qualifying for any finals in his time there.

Bertie Vogts turned out to be Scotland's biggest embarassment ever. He was appointed in unimaginative copycat style after Eriksson was given the England job. Vogts totally smeared Scotlands reputation by turning us into "minnows" on the world stage and the embarrassment of having to put up with a useless twat like him - representing us, when Scotland can at least be proud of the calibre of football managers they produce. In fact, when you think about it, all the English need to do is find an English manager with plenty Scottish blood in the family!

calm down chelski, it was only a joke
just for the record, i heard it on the radio too, but wasn't sure if it was him speaking or his assistant??
terry won't be captain for sundays match against t&t though & the eventual, permanant captain will not be decided until the opening game of the world cup qualifiers against andorra

RNR I listened on talksport and it was him speaking all the time. They interviewed some of the press later who confirmed that it was him and were pleasently suprised that he had infact grasped speaking English as well as he had in such a short space of time.

Will be intersting to see what happens after this one. I do not really mind if it is JT or Rio that gets it because there is not much between either of them with the skill, determination and will to win for their clubs and England.

Really if you look at the England team we have at least 3 top class club captains in the side normally so will not be short on experience there.
Just the rest of them we have to worry about.

Jockey I agree Berti Vogts destroyed Scotland completly, things were terrible when he was there. At least Sven was not that bad.

No wonder that they fought hell and high water to get Walter Smith and then Alex Mcliesh. Both of them done a really good job and got Scotland back up in the top 20 Fifa rankings after dropping to 88 in March 2005.

I think it will be interesting to see how George Burly goes as a National Team Manager with big Terry Butcher as his assistant. The fans have now seen how good some of the younger players have been playing in the national team and will be interesting to see if they can carry and follow up the good work that the other two previous managers had done.

I am with you in some of the criticism of Sven when he was Englands coach, but in hindsight, although the play might not have been the most pure of football, he got some good results in his time. I know it was a disaster against Croatia, but if you look on an overall basis he did not do to bad.

I must admit he did impress me this year with what he did at Man City. I think that given a position where he has day to day involvment with players at a club level, he has proved that he is a top class club coach.

Everyone laughed at the players that he signed after only seeing videos or on the say so of his contacts, but what a start they had to the season. I saw a lot of the early season games and some of the football they played was 1st class. Everyone new they would go through a bad patch during the year, but there were not many teams that did the double (I think) over Man Utd.
If they do sack him I think they will make one big mistake, because I think he has done more than enough to warrant keeping his position.

A year ago I would have been dead against having him at Chelsea, but am not so sure now. I think that he could do a good job there with the better quality players that he would have to operate with. Only time will tell that.
Heard today that there is a big push at present for Mark Hughes & Didie Dechamps, and also only now being mentioned is Roy Keane (a very interesting choice).
If he was appointed, I cannot see Roman getting much say in the team selection with him in charge.
Would be like trying to tell Fergie who to pick in his team.
