Sat Nav

In the Uk and Europe I use a Tom Tom Sat Nav system in my car.
Is anything like that available in Thailand?

Hallo there Big Boy

I've seen them them too a feew months back when I was in Thailand.darwinian plz don't expect the quality of Card of the SAT NAVs to be as good as in Europe the road and streetrules change by the day and it's almost impossible to update them all a on a daily basis.

I've been using a bluetooth gps antenna combined with a nokia phone that gives you a location on a map. It doesn't navigate for you, but around the Hua Hin area the maps are surprisingly good.

These people have what you want, along with the Thailand maps.

Garmin has a Thailand map, which can be used in Garmin navigation devices. This map comes on a CD.
I purchased it in Bangkok in March and asked them to put in my Garmin Nüvi, which I normally use in Europe.
The results were better then I expected. I usually rent a car to drive to Ban Krut, +/- 160 Kms south of Hua Hin and I was surprised with the detail in even such a remote area as Ban Krut.
Simply google: Garmin Thailand, to find all the necessary details where to buy the map, or a device with a pre-loaded Thai map.
There are also some torrent sites from where you can download this software, but it requires some hacking skills to get it working on your Garmin device.

Last month I was using GPS satnav on my phone with Nokia maps and I was actually shocked at just how good the mapping was.
For instance tracks like this one up near some farm land we have in Issan appear on the map:
