I agree with the critics but think a bit early to judge yet. The police have stated that alcohol was involved but are looking for witnesses regarding the style of driving prior to the crash. I used to own a Previa and they are very unstable at speed. I would not fancy your chances of keeping the vehicle on the road after a motorway speed front wheel blowout.
A law I would like top see put in place is already being piloted in one of the US. A driver has to prove he is alcohol free to get a licence that permits him to carry passengers. This is all the more important with children as they are unaware of the implications of drink driving.

Similar thing happened to Lee Hughes when he played for West Brom. Smashed his Merc into a small Renault and then done a runner from the scene and handed himself in 36hrs later.
Ended up getting 6 years inside and his contract terminated after his appeal against the length of the sentence failed.
He served his time and when he came out signed for Oldham and as far as I know is still playing for them.
If the young guy is found guilty and serves his time, I would say his carear at Plymouth will be over. But if he is still young enough once all of this is over, I would imagine that is he is still fit enough and wants to play, there is no reason why he would not be able to resume his carrear.
Is a very sad thing that has happened for that family and will take a long time to get over such a tragedy, but I am with the others in not condeming the guy until after the charges have been heard by the courts, and the guilty or not guilty verdicts have been decided.

A local perspective.
Very sad - he was a brilliant young keeper, and if just a little taller would have been a definite contender for a full England place.
How stupid - driving over the limit with no insurance - obviously thought as a proffessional footballer, he was immune. Whether or not he was driving dangerously, there is no excuse for driving over the limit, and without insurance. I'm afraid he is about to get a reality check, and if found guilty, I would imagine he will go down for some time. I don't think he'll make the team sheet for quite a few seasons.
My sympathy goes out to that poor lady who has lost her children, and will now have to care for her severely injured husband.
