The Return of the King to Hua Hin
The Return of the King to Hua Hin
HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej, HM Queen Sirikit and the Princess Ubol Ratana, are returning to stay at the Palace in Hua Hin tomorrow.
The King has been away for a long time. It is good that he is returning home, maybe the town will return a little to the way it was before.
His Majesty and Family members are scheduled to return to the Palace at around 9.00am, get the kids to school early, all traffic on Petchkasem will be stopped about 10 minutes before and after his arrival.
I am so pleased his health has improved to the extent that allows his health advisers to endorse his return.
Some good news for a change.

We live at the north end of Naebkehardt and yesterday afternoon the GF and I were sitting on the porch whan a policeman rode up on his bike and then walked up onto the porch. He had a friendly conversation with my girlfriend, then she began writing on a form he had. When she finished she passed the form to me.
"The King is coming tomorrow", she said. "You can write what you feel or a short message for him." So I wrote a short message that I was happy to be in Hua Hin when the King came for a visit. Very true.
The policeman smiled, thanked us, and rode away. As far as I can tell, this was a security check, to see who is in the area near the palace. It was so friendly and civilized compared to a similiar situation in the US.

The King
One of the people who works for the King said that the reason for coming down in the evening was so he did not cause any traffic problems in the morning and hold up workers or kids going to school.
This is typical he is a very thoughtful wonderful man long may he live

From today's Nation:
In his speech given to newly appointed judges on the Constitution Court on Wednesday, His Majesty the King said: "The Constitution is a pillar needed in running the country."
"With the pillar, the governance and people determined to follow the principles, the country will function well," he added.
The nine judges, led by Court Chief Justice Chat Chollaworn, were sworn in by His Majesty.
"The Constitution is a vital factor for the country, because with it as a pillar in running the country, governance will go well," the King said.
In another speech made later with Administrative Court judges, led by Akkarathorn Chularat, HM the King told them to "act in accordance with the Constitution."
His Majesty is expected to leave Bangkok soon for Klai Kangwon Palace in Prachuap Khiri Khan's Hua Hin district, after his last visit there two years ago.
Prachuap Khiri Khan residents, especially those living in Hua Hin, are delighted to welcome Their Majesties the King and Queen to Klai Kangwon Palace.
The crowds will be allowed to gather alongside a Phet Kasem Road section from Hua Hin airfield to the residence to watch the royal motorcade travel past. National flags are decorated the road.
The palace was built in 1926 by King Rama VII for his wife Queen Ramphai Phannee.
In neighbouring Phetchaburi, where the motorcade will also travel past, 10,000 decorative lights are to be lit at Khao Wang mount while fireworks will be displayed to welcome Their Majesties, who will leave Bangkok on a coming schedule.
Prachuap Khiri Khan provincial governor Parnchai Bowornrattanapran said Their Majesties last visited Klai Kangwon on June 7, 2006.
During his absence from his summer residence, the King had hospital treatment in Bangkok for his health problems and has now recovered.

I had to take my 'dragon' to witness the kings arrival and as already
stated on here it was a moving moment.
OK, the kings coming, but this is the 1st time I've seen Thais do as they were told.
The police requested everyone off the road and onto the pavement, and
it was duly done (never seen a policeman speaking so politely before).
Before he arrived the head of the house-hold guard near the gate
shouted something in Thai and a strange silence followed..quite spooky,
Thousands of Thais, none of em making any noise...! The road was
traffic-free (no noise from there then).
Finally, a wave of sub-dued cheers slowly worked its way down from
Index to the Palace gate as the royals passed by, and the people got all
tearful and overwhelmed....strange stuff this.
On seeing the 'Royal Car' I was happy to see a light on inside the car so
everyone could see them both clearly and what they were wearing etc.
(refreshing change when blacked-out glass is the norm, maybe more
for security than comfort).
Only afterwards did I think wow, fancy being so close to the No.1 of
a country without being behind barriers half a mile away and not being
bullied by security or blinded by paparatzi cameras.
The 'Dragon's' still happy, bonus brownie-points for taking her.
