Can anyone recommend somewhere that can carry out a small bit of body work on the tail gate of a silver isuzu?
Got a dint about the size of a 10 baht coin with alot of paint removed. Main dealers just want to give it a coat of scratch paint but this will leave an unsightly dint still. I would have thought that a small fill and paint would give me a flush finish again but that seems to go over there heads or am I wrong with the fill idea?

There is one that was recommended to me in the soi that runs from the Pala U road (just before the builder's merchant) down to the Klong road (7/11). You can see them working from the street. I think you will find you will have to have the whole panel sprayed as metallic colours can never be matched. The filler and labour will be next to nothing but the paint will be at European/Japanese prices.

JG, if it works the same way as it is done in Aus, the dealers will have a recommended panel beater/painter that does their company and warranty paint and panel work.
Get a quote from them 1st and then shop the price around some of the local guys.
Remember if it is a very late model car, it will be painted in 2pack paint with a coat of laqeur over the final coat of paint. It will need a spray booth/paint oven to paint & bake dry the paint finish to able to finish 100% as you have now.
Because of the humidity over in LOS, if they try to air dry the paint (not put it in the oven), you run the risk of getting moisture between the laquer and the paint and all that will happen is the laquer will crack, start to lift and also you could end up with a white film showing through the paint.
With that sort of paint, not always is cheapest the best way to go. My advice is if the paint has not cracked or you cannot see metal in the damaged area, leave it as it is..
