DONER KEBAB MEAT SUPPLIERS IN HUA HIN
DONER KEBAB MEAT SUPPLIERS IN HUA HIN
Is there a DONER KEBAB MEAT SUPPLIER IN HUA HIN - also where can I buy Pitta Bread : D
Re: DONER KEBAB MEAT SUPPLIERS IN HUA HIN
Pitta bread from Villa market, I think for Doner meat you have to make your own.
Re: DONER KEBAB MEAT SUPPLIERS IN HUA HIN
I think most of the supermarkets sell pita bread now, or at least they did for a while. As JW has pointed out, you'll probably have to make your own meat, or arrange to have it made for you. Perhaps Hua-Hin Ham and Bacon can help, or perhaps even Makro if you intend buying in bulk.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact

Yea. There's chicken Doner at the Market Village food court, but Lamb is very difficult to come by in Thailand. I think somebody said the only place to find it is in Bangkok

Chicken's a bit cr@ppy for a Doner, but beef is not such a bad substitute..... for us expats who have been away from the "proper" source anyway (every chance to use that word!). Couple of straight forward recipes...... sure you can get the spices in Thailand if you really want that midnight snack!! For me though, when in Thailand.... a Massaman Curry!!Pleng wrote:Yea. Lamb is easy to find here. Cooking a joint as I write, slow roasting with garlic and rosemary for another 2 hours and the smell is driving me and the dog mad!

My Mrs always slow cooks lamb with rosemary garlic but the special bit is the lamb is marinated for hours with red wine and anchovy fillets, this really is lamb at it's best incredible flavors a must try in my book.

No anchovies but the rest was done of course. Left out the citrus peels as will be using leftovers for a rendang

Doner kebab (Turkish: döner kebabı) is a Turkish dish made of roasted meat cooked on a vertical spit. It is also known regionally as gyro (play /ˈjɪəroʊ/ YEER-oh, /ˈdʒaɪroʊ/ JY-roh,[2] /ˈʒɪəroʊ/ ZHEER-oh;[3] Greek: γύρος, [ˈʝiros], lit. 'turn'), shawarma,[4][5] and al pastor (Spanish; "Shepherd style"). It consists of shaved lamb, goat, chicken, turkey, beef, or mixed meats roasted on a spit. Less common alternatives include fish and sausage. It is often served wrapped in a flatbread such as a pita or tortilla, and is a common fast food item in the Middle East, Europe, the Caucasus, North America, and Australia.

I well remember trying for the 1st time Lamb 'shawarma' at the kebab kid in Fulham, which was layered identifiable lamb on the spit as opposed to the pinkish gloop that is still served as doner in so many places. That must have been the best part of 25 years ago and It kind of changed my views on kebabs, but still not so easy to find. Always go for kofte lamb or chicken now. Had one Friday night and very good it was too!

I am sure on here at HHAD party going back a long time ago their is a photo of a doner kebab spit at i think JW'S bar.
The best kebabs i have ever eaten were from a kebab shop in Jundalup north Perth three or four spits with layered meat and the finished product wrapped tightly in grease proof paper, ( very handy after a big night on the terps)

You are correct, kendo. There were some location related problems, though, and so we discontinued the doner kebab. The problems had nothing to do with JW's bar nor any other bar, we just couldn't find a perfect spot for it.I am sure on here at HHAD party going back a long time ago their is a photo of a doner kebab spit at i think JW'S bar
