Looking at the list of the 9 movies nominated for an Oscar. How many , if any, have been shown at MV?

Nominated for an Oscar or not, I can't say I've heard of the 2 No's. Wolf of Wall Street was awful in my opinion - probably at least an hour too long,

Most movies that I to like do tend to get shown (sometimes in Thai only), so I'm happy with what they show.

The other 6 nominations for best picture were:
12 YEARS A SLAVE
GRAVITY
NEBRASKA
DALLAS BUYERS CLUB
HER
PHILOMENA

12 years a slave, is thought to be a favorite, very politically correct to honor it!

I don't think any of these made it, Captain Phillips with Tom Hanks is one I would have drawn a crowd.

I don't think any of them made it to HH

Another MV, peculiarity. Before the feature they show at least 2o mins of. Coming attractions, but some of them never come.

Where are we going with this oakdale160?

It took me a lot of time and effort to persuade the cinema to show movies in original soundtrack. Personally, with one or 2 exceptions, I've been well satisfied with original soundtrack movies provided for us in this foreign country (OK my taste will be different to other people). Our little town only has a 4 screen cinema, and they have to cater for a Thai population that massively outnumbers the expat community.

If you are dissatisfied, then I suggest you engage with Major Cineplex top management as I did, and explain in simple terms why they should change what they are doing, while still making the cinema pay.

In the instances they don't show a movie I would like to have seen, I simply download it and watch it at home. Compared with the cinema situation in Hua Hin a year ago, we have advanced light years.

Sorry I wrote BB. I have to realize that my opinion is of NO value. I mistakenly thought that this was a free discussion group, but as I am not a party member, I'll keep quiet.

oakdale, of course you are entitled to an opinion. However, if you have a gripe with the cinema, and if you are serious about getting things done, you will be better off writing directly to the management. I did, and I eventually got things changed.

Many people complained here, and several other places about the lack of original soundtrack movies, but the only thing that got things changed was direct contact. I'm happy with what's being shown, else I would have represented your views.
