Buying online from Lazada

It could be that Lazada are trying to boost sales by just sending random stuff they think you might need.

I know it's a common mistake thinking that Lazada is a big shop. Lazada is only a platform. They don't sell anything. Products are sold by individual sellers. It tells you which shop you are buying from before you order. I always check out the seller and customer ratings. You should be looking at high 90's for service. Avoid sellers that don't rate highly. I've ignored that in the past and had problems with delivery, unanswered messages etc and eventually having to cancel the order and re-order with another 'shop'.

I looked for a cheap Smartphone for my grandchild (because these have not a very long life with her). I ordered a OPPQ (not OPPO) Rino4 pro (not Reno 4) with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB ROM for 1175 Baht (I know it is a fake from China but the specifications look great). It came quickly from nxmy8shop. I installed all necessary apps and settings and found it to be very slow in opening apps and other things. So I installed an app to check the RAM and it showed less than 0.5 GB. So I made a return, which is very easy with Lazada. There came a service to get the parcel from my home and now I am waiting for the refund.

That is where the fun begins. They will put it into your Lazada Wallet. However, dirty, smelly, Covid ridden Farangs aren't allowed to have a Lazada Wallet. You will need to contact customer services to request they transfer the money to your bank account. OK, a bit of a nause, but actually, quite simple.

I have to say I've never tried a refund on COD. The few refunds I've enacted have been credit card purchases. In those cases, a refund to my card happens within 24 hours. No complaints on that score.

Not true any longer. You are now allowed to have a wallet. Just apply on line (when buying or not buying). It wants a scan of your passport and a selfie. That's it. I had a few hundred in my wallet and now I have used them ::-). It took less than a minute to set up.

Really? I've been through the procedure earlier this year, so I guess a very recent development.

I wasn't going bother returning whatever arrives for 46฿, but I'm now intrigued. I'll have to try it out (assuming the sandals don't arrive) - thank you.

A day late, but my package arrived

Please remember, this was such a bargain because you just don't find bargain shoes when you have elephant sized feet. The package photographed alongside one of my (well worn) slippers ( maybe they will be inflatable sandals):

So, filled with excitement, I removed the 'sandals' from the packaging:

So, if something on Lazada looks to good to be true, it probably is.

It was worth 46฿ just for the fun of seeing what would turn up. I've tried to give the seller a suitable adverse review, but Lazada will not let me review it.

I wasn't going to bother returning the item for 46฿, but fft100 has got me intrigued. I'll return it, just to see if I am now allowed to create a Lazada Wallet, so watch this space for further updates.
