Why they put a side salad on some of these dishes has always flummoxed me!

Re: Fish & Chips
I had fish & chips at Harry’s last week. Someone told me it was good there, but I can’t remember who told me. Anyways, me and my friend went there to try it because we grew up in Seattle, where fish & chips is practically a staple. The chips were very decent, but the worst fish I’ve had in four years here. My friend agreed. No taste at all, the battered coating would fall off the fish when you picked it up, and I had two bones in my fish. In 54 years I’ve never had a bone in my fish & chips. I miss Maya’s Kitchen.

It certainly wasn't me as I had it once at Harry's and agree with you, the fish was poor, but that was quite a while ago now. Interesting comment about bones in fish - years ago, as a kid and younger man, the filleting wasn't so great and you had to look out for small bones in the fish, which is why I became a fan of what in London, is called 'Rock' generally huss and a member of the shark family. One big bone only and no need to worry about the small fiddly bones! I miss Rock.Jack_Batty wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 3:56 pm I had fish & chips at Harry’s last week. If you ever get to Seattle, go have fish & chips at Ivar’s. It’s fantastic!caller wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 5:19 pmIt certainly wasn't me as I had it once at Harry's and agree with you, the fish was poor, but that was quite a while ago now. They’ve been on my radar for a few weeks now. The reviews have been good.huahin4ever wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 6:47 pmTry Siam Viking @ Kao Takiab.Jack_Batty wrote:I had fish & chips at Harry’s last week. Re: Fish & Chips
Just had a cracking Friday Fish Special from Raffertys
280B
Proper home cooked chips
Imported Cod
Mushy Peas
Tartar Sauce
And you even get batter bits or scraps I call them
Probably the best I have had for a long time
Batter was light and crispy and the homemade chips were great.
I need a lie down now.
I do have a pic but cant work out how to load it

Sounds very interesting and if it’s as good as you say very reasonably priced

I didnt even know they were still going. El Murphy's ran it until recently (covid) and I jusr assumed when he gave it up, that was that. I will definitely give that a go soon. I even know where it is and it has car parking!

I've played pool matches twice there recently and there's been an issue parking...

You can park in the field on the opposite side of the road. There's a sign.thecolonel wrote:Are you sure it has parking?caller wrote:I didnt even know they were still going.
