World Darts & Luke "THE NUKE" Littler
World Darts & Luke "THE NUKE" Littler
Anyone been following it? I don't much usually but this year is different with the arrival of 16 year old Luke Littler (who looks 30). Darts sensation who's just qualified for the semis after knocking out some giants of the game.
I don't trust children. They're here to replace us.
Re: Darts World Championship
Semi-final coverage kicks-off (throws off? ) at 19:30 for anyone interested, players to appear around 15 minutes later. Youngster Luke Littler vs 2018 World Champion Rob Cross. Link below.

Re: Darts World Championship
Well, fair play to him. Can't say I've followed the darts, but hard to avoid this tournament as Luke "The Nuke" is constantly in the news.
At 16 (weight (stone) or age I wonder), it has to be said he's quite something - a great deal of skill, zero nerves, a big following and a 21 year old girl friend.... Not to mention a rather large Pay-check already. No doubt sponsors, agents and scroungers galore will be sniffing around - I truly hope there's someone there that will keep him safe and his feet on the ground as difficult as that may be.
Good luck to him in the final!

Re: Darts World Championship
Luke Littler up 4 sets to 2 in the finals. First to seven sets, can he do it.

I jinxed it. He didn't win another set after my post.

Re: Darts World Championship
16 years old with £200,000 in his pocket as runner up. Pretty sure he's not that disappointed.

Re: Darts World Championship
Apparently he's going to lose close to half of that in UK Tax - still, a rather nice chunk of change I'd certainly be happy with!! Hell I could even afford that VW Camper Van Dannie Boy posted details of in the Camping thread!!

Re: Darts World Championship
Might need a Luke Littler thread. The 16 year old won his first senior title showing no signs of WC fatigue. Along the way he became only the second player to achieve a 9-darter in the world series after Phil Taylor.

Re: Darts World Championship
Talented no doubt. As I've said before, I hope there's someone around him that's not after fame or fortune and can keep his feet firmly on the ground. Regardless of prize money, sponsorship deals must be flooding in unless of course there's a restriction with him being under 18?
Anywho, fair play

A change in Thread Title might be appropriate.....

Re: Darts World Championship
Think that works.
Only commenting on the darts due to 'Luke the nuke'.

Re: Darts World Championship
Of course mate - can't see Darts World Championship needing its own thread as such, but "The Nuke" might be there for a bit....
How about something like "World Darts & Luke "The Nuke" Littler"?

Re: World Darts & Luke "THE NUKE" Littler
Well, the multi-bellied kebab lover continues to be in the news - whether it's for upsetting the normal order of things or whatever.. Either way, he seems to be on top for now at least..... The only reason I was aware of this is that it was in the Welsh News after he beat Price...
"Teenager Luke Littler made it successive Premier League Darts nightly wins with a 6-3 victory over Gerwyn Price in Manchester.
Littler, who is making his debut in the eight-player tournament, won his maiden night in Belfast last Thursday.
The 17-year-old, who rose to prominence with his run to the World Championship final in January, now tops the table.
He raced into a three-leg lead against Price, who hit a nine-darter in his semi-final, and saw out the win.
The five points for the nightly win puts Littler in a strong position to qualify for the play-offs at London's O2 Arena on 23 May.
"I'm glad I won," Littler told Sky Sports. "I've definitely settled into it [the Premier League]. The first five or six weeks, I won then lost and lost. I've grown in confidence.
"There's still six weeks to go, but I'm sure if I keep getting two or three points a week I will get into the play-offs.""
. .
No idea what kind of money he stands to earn, but the Donners he can afford won't improve his waistline.
