Any expats with family around 38yrs living here?
Any expats with family around 38yrs living here?
Most of the people I meet living here are retirees. So I'm curious if there are some families around my age living in Hua Hin too.
I'm turning 38 this year, my wife is Thai 36 and I got three kids, 3yrs and 2x4mths.
I'm here about 6-7 months of the year, otherwise in Europe or Australia.

Where are you from originally buksida?
I'm hoping in the future I find a way to stay here permanently. But at the moment I still need to fly off for work otherwise I'm here with the family.

How are your kids growing up? I'm curious how mine will develop and if their mixed ethnicity will have any influence on them growing up here.

PM is probably more appropriate for personal stuff, but the kids are growing up fine.

Been in Thailand 26 years, Bangkok-based,kids are Thai citizens and have developed well. There are good schools and universities available, eldest already graduated and working, youngest in first year uni.
They are happy, bi/tri- lingual and making a go of it.
Am over the hill myself (unlike you young-uns) but having PR helps.

Hi Vincent! It's great to hear everything is working out good for you! My kids are still very young so we got a long way to go but things are going smoothly. My son is talking in three languages too, its amazing how quickly they can pick this up.VincentD wrote:Been in Thailand 26 years, Bangkok-based,kids are Thai citizens and have developed well. Hi Maureen!
Where are you coming from? I saw you were looking for a school for your children? If so I can recommend Sethavidhya School on Soi 102, big new building with blue peaking roof tops. They would cater for your 1yr old but i'm not sure about classes for you ten yr old. It's a private school, very nice teachers and staff. Maybe check it out
