Hi Russ,
If you head north on Phetchkasem road, between Index mall and Hua Hin hospital on the left, there are three small local style motor repair shops.
At least two of these normally have old jeeps for sale, they tend to be restored in the Thai style with liberal use of filler. The last time I inquired, the asking price was around 200,000bt, but I never tried to seriously buy one so I don’t know what they actually sell for.
These places seem to have a never ending supply of jeeps and I suspect they are connected to the military in the area, if you do buy one, I would be interested to know what you the going rate is.

Head north out of town on phetchkasem , and just before the shell station that is closed but being modernised there is a garage/carwash/repair shop,(on the left going north)

The owner is a willys jeep enthusiast and if you walk through to the back past the water tank , you will see he has a few in stock in various states of renovation. he also has some mitsubishi jeep clones.

He also owns a beautiful 4 seater jeep open top saloon , its in the back.
Ive never seen one before.

Hi Sbj,
If you go a bit further down the road, just before the TOT office, there’s another small garage. Behind that, they have a strange, forward cab, jeep pick-up.
It looks about 1960’s vintage, take a look, maybe they are common in the states, I’ve never seen one of those before either. Now you have aroused my curiosity, I will try to find out about jeep variants on the net.

Hi sbj,
I’ve had a bit of a trawl round the internet, and the strange jeep near TOT seems to be a FC-150 forward cab, 81’’ wheel base pickup produced from 1956-64.
I’m out of town until the weekend so I haven’t seen the saloon yet, its possibly a Jeepster 1948-50 or more likely a Jeepster Commando 1966-71, but I’m just guessing, I’ll go and have a look when I get the chance.

I've had a look on the net , and as you say , its probably a jeepster, if you are fan of these things then you should definately go and have a look.

The guy there is very friendly and if he is around will be happy to talk jeep with you.
